New and like-new shoes for students are being collected as part of the Mayor’s Week of Service from Saturday, April 15, through Sunday, April 23. The shoes will be distributed by the 15th District Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) students.
Donations of shoes can be accepted at CAP, which is located inside the Central High School Football Stadium at 319 South 15th Street, or at any Neighborhood Place location. The 15th District PTA already provides new uniforms, underwear, socks, and a belt as well as gently used clothing to JCPS students. The shoes will be especially beneficial as CAP helps clothe students leading up to the 2017-18 school year.
We need new or like-new shoes for boys and girls in kindergarten through grade twelve, with an emphasis on sneakers and athletic shoes.
