Dr. Pollio’s Community Strategy Session

Wednesday, April 18th from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm

Please join Dr. Marty Pollio and Dr. Carmen Coleman for a Community Strategy Session on The Backpack of Success Skills.

The Backpack of Success Skills is a JCPS initiative to help all students districtwide develop key cognitive, social and self-management skills in order to empower them with the tools they need to be successful in school, life and work. JCPS will be implementing The Backpack of Success Skills initiative districtwide during the 2018-19 school year.

Our Community Strategy Session gives you, our valued community stakeholders, an opportunity to provide critical feedback on the skills students need to be successful. We seek your input on the most essential universal skills that students need — skills that will help anyone get ahead in practically any field, translate across disciplines and can be learned by anyone in any position. Not only will you have an opportunity to help draft the framework of the initiative, but you will help define and build the system of experiences to support it. Thank you for your partnership and support in shaping the future for our young generation.

Award Applications – Due March 1, 2018

Did you PTA have an awesome program or project?  Do you have a volunteer who is outstanding?  Was your membership campaign awesome this year?  If so – tell us about it.  We give awards away at our banquet in May for volunteers, programs, projects, membership campaigns, social media, newsletters, website,  male involvement, and advocacy.  Check out all the award applications here.

Area residents also may provide input in person by attending an upcoming public forum. The Q&A-style meetings are an opportunity for the public to meet and hear from the finalists.

All meetings will begin at 6 p.m.  Scheduled public meetings include:
