Celebrate CAP at the Open House Nov 18

The 15th District Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Clothing Assistance Program (CAP), will host an Open House (9:30 to 11:30 a.m.) and Ribbon Cutting at 10:30 a.m. on Mon., Nov. 18.

The new location at 1400 West Jefferson Street is a vast expansion from its previous location and offers greater opportunities for school volunteering and service projects. All school PTAs/PTSAs are encouraged to send a group to volunteer at CAP twice each year. CAP also hosts several groups of JCPS student volunteers each week.

CAP started with a small group of dedicated parents in 1971 who noticed students in need of clothing, shoes, and accessories. CAP—a thriving partnership between the nonprofit 15th District PTA and the JCPS Diversity, Equity, Poverty (DEP) Department—serves as a district-wide resource site for JCPS service providers, and CAP provides in-person appointments and personal shoppers for more than 6,000 students each school year.
