Kentucky’s own, Emmet Field Elementary’s PTA got some exciting news this past week when they found out they were awarded a National PTA grant! The Field PTA, a member of the 15th District, is the recipient of the 2023 PTA Healthy Minds Grant sponsored by the New York Life Foundation. The grant was designed to support PTA/PTSAs build “Healthy Minds” programming that will best fit the needs of their community and the Field student body. The Field PTA submitted their grant in support of an inclusive playground, which the PTA has been working to fund for several years now. Field Elementary had already been chosen to work with the Kentucky Autism Training Center. The Healthy Mind grant will continue the progress the school has already accomplished by adding inclusive playground equipment. Additionally, the Field PTA has been raising funds to build a fence around the playground, so that all students, regardless of abilities, will be able to run and play.
