Letter from 15th District President Sienna Newman:
Welcome to the start of the 2023-2024 school year! It’s such an exciting time of year! The 15th District PTA is honored to serve and support our schools by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. To begin the year, I want to warmly welcome all new and returning PTA leaders; I hope to have a chance to engage with everyone at one of our numerous events this year! Additionally, the 15th District officers are excited to help each PTA strive to support every child and promote the betterment of our schools and community. Please make sure to keep up with all our events by keeping an eye out on our website and reading our weekly newsletters!
Up first, our annual Back to School Back to PTA event will be on August 19th, at Noe Middle School. We are excited to start the day with school board members Mr. Marshal and Mr. Craig with a community listening session for them to receive feedback on the vision our community has for students in JCPS. This event will also include PTA specific training and roundtables for each officer position. Don’t forget to register to make sure we have enough breakfast!
Over the next several weeks we will also hold virtual PTA Training Sessions to help each of our PTAs make sure they are up to date on their paperwork, answer questions, and make sure we are all working together towards our mission. This training will also include information on how to submit your PTA Reflections artwork! Don’t forget to register for those training sessions on our website!
Finally, I am personally looking forward to working with each and every one of you as we engage and empower our families and communities to advocate for all children!
Sienna Newman, President, 15th District PTA
